MASSIVE Plot Hole Discovered in "Final Fantasy VII"

The hit Playstation video game, Final Fantasy VII, has been revered by many to be one of the best video games of all time, receiving many amazing scores from various review sites. One of the features praised by critics is the game's story, which weaves a tale of identity, love, and environmental messages. However, one plot hole which has gone unnoticed has been recently uncovered by a fan on GameFAQs. Be warned, as this post will contain spoilers for the game.

Hojo, one of the main antagonists of Final Fantasy VII, is a scientist who performs experiments on a few different characters in the game, and may even be deemed responsible for setting the events of the game in motion. People claim he is responsible for such a thing because he is the father of the main antagonist of the game, Sephiroth.

In the story of the original game in the Compilation Final Fantasy VII, Hojo reveals that he is the father of Sephiroth, and while Sephiroth was in his mother's womb, Hojo performed experiments on him, which in turn, killed the mother, Lucrecia.

However, GameFAQs user sephy013197 sees a glaring issue with this love triangle.

The user posted: "now, i havent played crysis core, but how could hojo date someone as hot as lucrecia?? theres no way hojo could get any girl, for that matter."

Lucrecia, again from Crisis Core. Are you saying this woman isn't at least kind of cute? Image source.

While several users have posted many theories of their own as to how the two got together, many more users agree that sephy013197 has a very valid point.

We reached out to Square Enix for a comment, but they declined.
