How is Xenoblade Chronicles X's world so big? We have the answers!

As the designers of the game have stated that the game would be more than five times larger than the world of the original Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, some fans are left wondering how a world that huge would fit onto a single disc.

Tetsuya Takahashi, a producer at Monolith Soft, the developers of the Xenoblade series, gave us some insight into making such a large world.

"It's actually quite simple," Takahashi stated. "There's actually little to no data for the world on the disc, because we actually found a planet for the game to take place on. While the characters are super-imposed on top of the beautiful backdrops, the planet is definitely real. Streaming technology allows us to have drones for every player on the planet to act like a game camera."

Takahashi remained silent when we inquired as to how such discoveries were made. However, he made one last announcement.

"Though sadly, this means the game will constantly require internet access. 'Please understand,' as my colleague Iwata-san would put it," he said with a laugh.
